Places Guy Fieri should go on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.” Or at least you should go there. 1. Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier Kittery Point, ME Usually a mid beach-week diversion, Chauncey Creek has soon become a family tradition of its own. Years back, some family members and I stumbled across this spot in the most serendipitous of manners. My mom was out hitting the Kittery outlets, and so after grabbing some syrup and maple sugar candy from the Kittery Trading Post, we went for a drive to entertain ourselves. Hitting a lovely back road, we kept on it until we came upon this lobster pier, in operation since the 1940s.

They make the lobster rolls the real way here. No mayonnaise, just butter. The steamers are cooked to perfection, and the mussels are mouthwatering. If you’re up for it (who isn’t?) you can go for a full lobster, meaty and juicy as could be. Real lobster connoisseurs don’t bother with bibs and tools to crack the shell, either.
Only 8 hours from me according to Google Maps, the way you make it sound I should probably hit the road right now. I've never been to Maine but have family in NH and should probably get there some time.
